The SHIELD certification program that building owners can achieve to demonstrate compliance with industry best practices for the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings to encourage crime prevention and be more resilient to man-made threats. Man-made threats addressed by the Secure Building Council Certification Program include, but are not limited to, unauthorized access, theft and burglary, vandalism and property damage, terrorism and active shooter incidents, cybersecurity threats, and workplace violence.
